      Holiday Rules in Thailand

      Holiday Rules in Thailand
      About Thailand
      30 July 2022

How to behave as a tourist in the Thai Kingdom? Local laws and traditions must be observed. This will make your stay at the resort safe and enjoyable.

When visiting the Land of Smiles, it is better to be acquainted with the rules of holidays in Thailand in advance. Most of them are similar to those in European countries. But also there are official and social conditions that must be met.

      No smoking on the beach

Many measures are being taken in the Kingdom to combat this bad habit. The law gets tougher every year. Every time the number of places where it is forbidden to use tobacco increases. Today, the ban has been introduced on the beaches. Violators are punished with a fine of $3. If a person is unable to pay or has smoked near a woman or child, they are sent to jail for 1 year. This restriction does not only apply to traditional cigarettes. The ban applies to vapes and electronic cigarettes as well.

Do not throw gum on the street

The Thais followed Singapore's example. Throwing gum is now punishable by a $600 fine or jail sentence. This should clear the streets of garbage.

If you can’t refuse chewing gum, do not spit it out under your feet. Put it carefully in your pocket or throw it into the trash bin.

      Strange but mandatory laws

      • Some of them seem absurd to foreigners. But such violations are severely punished:
      • Feeding marine life, as this disrupts the balance of flora and fauna in the ocean.
      • Use of drones without prior permission. Flights must be coordinated with the authorities.
      • Driving a car or bike bare-chested. This threatens with a reprimand from the police and a fine. And if you are bare-chested on the street named after the king, this will be considered an insult to the monarch.
      • Going outside without underwear. It is not entirely clear how this is tracked, but there is a punishment.

Holiday conditions in Thailand - useful recommendations

Following these tips can make your vacation easier and help you avoid many embarrassing moments:

      • When addressing a person, it is advisable to bow with hands clasped in a boat.
      • It is best to talk to locals with a polite smile.
      • If you want to address a man, add the word "khun".
      • When a Thai helps you, he should be thanked. But this must be done with restraint.
      • Touching women without getting consent is taboo.
      • You can not touch the head of people, especially children. If the touch still happened, you need to immediately apologize.
      • In the Kingdom, the national anthem is played twice a day. It is customary to listen while standing.

These are some of the rules for holidays in Thailand in 2022, following which tourists will make their vacation safer and protect themselves from trouble. Respect other people's laws and traditions, and the Land of Smiles will welcome you with joy.

      Additionally

An additional tab for posting information about promotions, delivery or any other important content. It will help you answer the buyer's questions and dispel his doubts about the purchase. Use it as you see fit.

You can remove it or return it back by changing one checkbox in the component settings. Very comfortably.
