In July 2022, the rules for entering Phuket changed. Vaccinated foreigners who have lived in “green” countries for 3 weeks may opt out of self-isolation. Citizens of Russia are also eligible for this privilege.
Travel programs
In order to fall under the so-called "sandbox", the arriving person must have a full course of vaccination with an approved vaccine at least 2 weeks before arriving in Thailand. The list of approved vaccines includes the domestic Sputnik.
In total, there are two options for staying in the province:
- It is allowed to come and move to any part of the resort, provided that at the time of arrival the PCR test was negative. You will have to stay in the region for 14 days.
- The second option is a more advanced version of SandBox. First, the tourist spends 7 days in Phuket. Then he takes the test. If the coronavirus is not detected, it is permissible to go to Phangng, Krabi, Surat Thani next week.
Conditions for entering Phuket
Getting to Thailand just got a little easier as the pandemic receded. In connection with the decrease in the incidence, the authorities lifted some of the restrictions. Now travelers need:
- Get a visa if you plan to stay longer than 30 days.
- Obtain a COVID-19 vaccination certificate.
- Take out a health insurance that covers hospital services for COVID treatment. Its value has now been reduced to $10,000.
- Get tested for the virus 72 hours before departure, at the Thai airport and within the country.
According to the rules of entry to Phuket, it is now no longer necessary to book a hotel in advance from the list of permitted hotels and issue a Thailand Pass.
