Thailand has simplified entry rules for tourists in 2022. The changes came into effect on July 1. Thanks to significant concessions, it is now easier to plan a trip or vacation.
Updated terms
- Sputnik V and Light are allowed. If a tourist decides to be vaccinated before the trip, now it is possible with two types of domestic vaccines. You will need to take a certificate in English.
- You can only come for a PCR test. If you have not been vaccinated, it will be enough to present only the test result before the trip. But its date should not exceed 72 hours at the time of arrival.
- Thai Pass is not required today. The permit was abolished from 01.07.
- Mandatory hotel reservation has been cancelled. Previously, tourists heading to the resort area, were required to confirm the reservation at the hotel. Now, this rule does not apply.
- The amount of insurance has been reduced. The mandatory coverage was reduced to $10,000. But it is still recommended to allocate at least $30,000 for these purposes. Medical care in the Land of Smiles is very expensive.
Thailand for Tourists 2022 – Coronavirus Rules

Guests are allowed to freely be in restaurants and cafés, shopping malls, visit beaches and other facilities.
How and where is the best place to go?
So far, direct flights between Russia and the Kingdom have not resumed. But the Thai government has already announced a timeline for when flights will become available. It is planned that this date will be this fall. First, flights will be launched from Vladivostok, and Moscow will be connected a little later.
Now it is possible to travel with transit through other states. For example, the United Arab Emirates or Turkey. You just need to clarify the rules of arrival in advance.
Tour operators are actively selling tours for the fall. As usual, Phuket, Pattaya remains the most popular destination. Today, there is no longer much difference where to go. It all depends on personal preference. Since now in Thailand for tourists in 2022, the rules for dividing into zones in connection with the pandemic do not apply.
